A gemstone that is very beautiful but very rare. The first stone was found in Madagascar in about 1902.

Grandidierite

The naming of these precious stones associated with the name Alfred Grandidier (1836-1912) as a form of respect to a naturalist and French explorer who studied the natural history of Madagascar around that time.
